If you or somebody you know is looking to give back through volunteer work, please consider volunteering at TowerLight! We have many opportunities for volunteers, and we welcome those of all ages, interests and experience levels. Browse through the types of opportunities we have on this page or contact us to find the opportunity that works best for you.
Are you passionate about leading a healthy lifestyle and want to encourage others to do the same? Opportunities as a Wellness Volunteer include escorting residents to and from exercise classes in the Fitness Center, leading exercise classes for our memory care residents, or leading a single/group of resident(s) in a walking club.
Do you have a green thumb? Do you enjoy sharing this gift with others? Opportunities as a Gardening Volunteer include accompanying residents to our Garden View patio, assisting residents in watering flowers, plants and herbs, or assisting with Gardening with Grandfriends intergenerational activities.
Spiritual Care Volunteer
Our residents come from many faith backgrounds, and for many, having opportunities to worship or practice their spirituality are incredibly important. Opportunities as a Spiritual Care Volunteer include escorting residents to and from TowerLight church services, gathering residents to partake in weekly communion visits, queuing streamed services from local churches in our theater, participating in hymn sings or prayer groups, leading Bible studies or Torah studies, reciting the Rosary with residents or serving as compassionate care companions for residents at their bedsides.
Do you have experience working in a restaurant setting? Or do you simply enjoy interacting with and serving others? Opportunities as a Culinary Volunteer include serving cake and coffee at our monthly birthday parties, assisting at our monthly pancake breakfasts, distributing treats to residents’ apartments via the TowerLight Treat Truck, or even assisting the culinary staff during mealtimes in the Main Dining Room.
Do you enjoy watching movies or spending time on your phone, iPad or computer? These interests would make you a perfect Tech-Support Volunteer! Opportunities as a Technology Volunteer include assisting residents with any technology-related questions (for computer, printer, cell phone, iPad, etc.), escorting residents to movies in our TowerLight theater, or finding new, beneficial applications for our TowerLight iPad.
Do you have a passion for music? Do you play a musical instrument yourself? Opportunities as a Musical Volunteer include escorting residents to musical programs at TowerLight, coming along on musical outings in the community, practicing your instrument for an audience of residents or serenading residents one-on-one.
